Join AI Ready RVA at Virginia Commonwealth University for the 2026 College of Humanities and Sciences AI Research Summit , a full day exploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping research, work, organizations, education, and society. Centered on the theme “Exploring Human-Centered AI in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Sciences,” the Summit brings together researchers, educators, industry professionals, students, organizational leaders, and community partners for deeper conversations about what responsible and practical AI adoption looks like. What to Expect This is more than a research conference. The Summit will feature 50+ sessions with researchers and professionals representing 20+ institutions and organizations . Participants will have opportunities to learn, engage, challenge ideas, and build connections across academia, industry, and the community. William Willis, Executive Director of AI Ready RVA , will lead an interactive workshop: What Does It Mean to Be AI Ready for Richmond, Virginia, and Beyond? Being AI Ready is not about knowing every new tool or chasing every new model. It is about developing the literacy, judgment, confidence, skills, and culture required to use AI responsibly and effectively. This session will explore what AI readiness means at four levels: The Individual. The Organization. The Workforce. The Community. We will bring lessons from the work happening across Greater Richmond into the room and challenge participants to think about what it will actually take to prepare people, organizations, and communities for an AI-enabled future.
