Community Conversations: AI Beyond the Workplace — Oct 20, 2026

2026-10-20 · Richmond Public Library Auditorium — 101 E. Franklin St., Richmond, VA 23219

SPECIAL EVENT AI Beyond the Workplace is an interactive community conversation presented by AI Ready RVA's AI Governance cohort in partnership with the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC). Through plain-language education, facilitated table discussions, and shared reflection, participants will explore how AI is shaping work, education, families, privacy, economic opportunity, and everyday life while identifying what communities need to navigate an AI-enabled future. What We Will Discuss: Where AI is already showing up and why AI literacy matters. How AI may change jobs, skills, entrepreneurship, and access to opportunity. The impact of AI on youth, education, privacy, misinformation, bias, and decision-making. What resources, education, and support people need to feel more prepared for an AI-enabled future. PARKING Parking is available on-street around the library. There is a surface lot at 1st and E. Grace Streets and a deck at 2nd and E. Franklin Streets. The parking spaces behind the library in the lot are permit-only. Bicycle lanes have been added to East Franklin Street and the library provides bike racks for your convenience.
